Hello, I’m Katarzyna Tymek, trained and qualified city guide in Poznań and some other towns in the surroundings (such as Kórnik, Rogalin, Gniezno, Ostrów Lednicki Island and Biskupin).

I was born in Kalisz (which is the oldest city of Poland by the way) and came to Poznań for my studies (Tourism and Leisure at the Sport University and German studies at the A. Mickiewicz University). I fell in love with the city and decided to stay here – and to show to other people how beautiful the city is. In 2009 I completed the tourist guide’s course and got the licence. So here I am – a professional guide happy to share my enthusiasm and knowledge with you!

Since I travel a lot, I know how valuable a tourist’s time is and what makes a trip interesting. You will never hear during a trip with me that the Poznań town hall was first mentioned in 1313 as Domus consulum, completed by 1300 and its interior was rebuilt in the years 1304-1308... But I will tell you e.g. about a famous architect who was a gambler and lost his whole fortune or explain to you what the Bible for the poor was.     

I’m interested in history, architecture, sports and… I love the German language and also work as a German teacher.
